Henry Martin who died on 29 April 1923 at the age of 49 as a result of an operation was “a member of the well-known share broking firm of Tolhurst, Greene and Martin” and “a prominent and popular member of the Melbourne Stock Exchange”. Appointed to the Exchange in February 1902, Martin went on to serve on the committee (1920-23); the Chairman of the Exchange paid tribute to his fine qualities “who stated his advice was always helpful and his opinion sound”. He was survived by his wife Isabel and son and resided at Cambooya Flats – Carmyle Avenue, Toorak.
